Last Friday, August 28, Kofi Kinaata, born Martin King Arthur, made yet another history at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards(VGMA’s) when he was adjudged with the best songwriter of the year award for third time.
The Highlife musician and “Taadi” god won the award for his song Susuka in 2016, and in 2017 for his Confession song.
He told Graphic Showbiz he’s “hard work brought him that far”.
He added, he’s always thought of doing good music music which will impact both the young and the old and that exactly what he’s done and will continue doing.
“When I won again last Friday, I told myself my hard work was finally paying off. I have always told myself I would do positive music to impact both the young and the old and thank God Ghanaians have accepted my kind of songs.”
Kofi Kinaata added, he does not just release songs because he feels like and fans want something from him, but takes time to write content songs that last for long. He’s now been accepted as the guy who writes good music, and he does not look forward to getting behind the bar
Kofi Kinaata, who also won Highlife Song of the Year and Vodafone Most Popular Song of the Year at the VGMA, got his big break in the music industry when he featured on Castro and Asamoah Gyan’s Odo Pa.
