CABUM; One Of The Free-Will Musicians

Ghanaian rapper, Cabum has always been himself, leaving out whether his a public figure or not. He is noted to be a free-will type of musician, who always has had a concern for his fans, colleague musicians and underground acts as well.

Cabum, born Frank Kwame Gyasi- Frimpong on 15 June 1985, to Ghanaian highlife musician Alhaji Kwame Frimpong and Joyce Asabia Frimpong, is a Ghanaian rapper from Kumasi.- according to wikipedia boi”

After two years of work, he got signed to Rock Entertainment and worked with a few managers including Andy Kem and Yaw Sarpong-Kumankuma. He has since released his first studio album “The Beginning”.

His slogan or emblem which literally means “Cherish it” normally precedes or ends all his records. He uses that slogan to usher his listeners into his music to cherish his lyrics. Cabum has since shared the stage with Angelique Kidjo and Youssou Ndour at the Mo Ibrahim Freedom Concert.

Cabum recently celebrate his 36th birthday as many; the young acts and other prominent artistes celebrate him on the various social media platforms.


Cabum is so loyal and free-hearten to extend of mostly interacting with his fans everyday,as he has a personalize Facebook account to the name Songs Orf Chedeshi  which he engage in conversation with his fans. The 35-year-old rap artiste, is sometimes sported subscribing to fans YouTube channel. A post he made on Facebook a while ago, which he states all his fans should provide their YouTube links so he can subscribe to. Which many fans happen to do and surprisingly he did subscribe to them, providing a screenshot as an evidence of it.


In 2017,the rapper disclose his feelings to as, how he’s always been omitted from the best rapper category speaking on the Kasahari Level on Adom FM with Pope Skinny. He says although he is not happy about the issue, he has grown accustomed to it.

“It’s a normal thing because everybody has their own best rapper… So, in a way I feel bad and in another way too I don’t,” he told Pope Skinny.”


According to the rap god he does have sex daily but, he prefers dating light skinned ladies to dark ones.

“I don’t often have sex but anytime I want to I prefer fair ladies to the dark ones,”- he stated.


He was born to the musical family, as his dad was the late one legendary high-life musician,Alhaji Kwame Frimpong. The rapper stated he has the music blood, but at first wants to be a radio personality which leads to no avail.

He is also debunks rumors of riding on his dad’s success as a musician. Which he says his dad has done his and is time for him to also set his own pace.

He revealed there have been calls for him to do remixes of songs of his father, Alhaji K. Frimpong of ‘Kyenkyen Bi Adi Mawu’ fame.

“Lots of people have been asking me to do a remix of my dad’s songs but I believe it’s time for me to do my own thing. Its destiny, he had his and I have mine so I have to do my thing my own way.”

He, however, added that, he will grant that request of working or remixing his dad’s songs after he has built a strong career for himself.
