Perhaps, what we will say right here here in Africa as the reigning and youngest Afro-beat badman, Kelvynboy, has revealed he’s to want to be noted for as an Afro-beat act and not a dance-hall artist.
Speaking with Giovanni Caleb on TV3 Showbiz360 he says, he feels to put into his song a patois lyric as and when he has the vibes, but that does not stop him from where he stand as an Afro-beat artist.
“i FEEL TO WRITE PATOIS VIBES IN MY SONGS BUT THEY ARE AFRO-BEAT AND NOT DANCE-HALL SONGS” he gushed out..
He says the bold step the Ghanaian Music Award has taken adding an Afro-beat Song Of The Year to the awards scheme’s category has been encouraging, which shows the Ghanaian music industry is accepting their own as Afro-beat
The Afro-beat badman as he’s referred to, has also revealed he has an album on way yet to be released. He says they have more songs on the album than expected and he’s working on perfecting the right ones, also to get solid collaborations from home and internationally before giving it out to fans..
“I STAND FOR AFRO-BEAT BECAUSE THAT’S HOW WE AFRICANS ARE RECOGNIZED TO FROM THE WESTERN WORLD”– he stated.
