Actor Rishi Kapoor has died after a two-year battle with cancer, reported Hindustan Times.

The actor, who had charmed his way into millions of hearts with his scintillating debut in 1973’s ‘Bobby‘, had been ailing for a while. After being diagnosed with cancer in 2018, he underwent treatment in New York for almost a year. In September 2019, he returned to India but was rarely seen in public since.

He was admitted to a hospital in Mumbai on Wednesday (April 29) after having breathing difficulties.  Today (April 30), he passed away  Neetu Kapoor his wife was by his side when it happened, reports says….

Actor Amitabh Bachchan tweeted the news, which comes a day after the news of his co-star in multiple films, Irrfan Khan’s death. He wrote, “Rishi Kapoor… gone… passed away. I am destroyed !”. The tweet was deleted soon after.

Several other movie personalities with whom Kapoor enjoyed a close relationship also paid tribute to the legendary actor
Film-maker Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari remembered him as “a beautiful, encouraging soul, phenomenal actor.”


Akshay Kumar, who played the role of Kapoor’s son in ‘Patiala House’, paid tribute on Twitter.
